NBS Television broadcasts commenced on June 16, 2008, when it was registered and got its license, owning just one transmitter and headquartered at Media Plaza in Kamwokya, a Kampala Suburb. In June 2018 they later moved to Next Media Park. One of the most celebrated female journalists in the East African region, Joy Doreen Biira, was a pioneer presenter. The flagship station is known for its focus on politics, hence “The Political Command Centre” slogan. The station has one of the biggest political talk shows in the country, Frontline which airs every Thursday night and brings together political leaders from different political parties and Barometer, the Luganda equivalent which airs every Tuesday night.

Capital FM is an English radio channel broadcasting from Kampala, Uganda at 91.3 MHz and covers the whole of Uganda with some parts of Northern Tanzania, Rwanda, Eastern Congo, and western Kenya. It covers the rest of the world through a streaming service on the station's website. Aside from the 91.3 MHz frequency which broadcasts from Kampala, the radio station also broadcasts on 90.9 MHz in Mbale, 96.9 MHz in Gulu, and 89.4 MHz in Fort Portal and 88.7 MHz in Mbarara. This wide coverage makes Capital FM the most listened to radio station in Uganda.
