Makindye Ssabagabo Municipal Council is one of the four municipalities of Wakiso District.

Kampala Capital City Authority is the legal entity, established by the Ugandan Parliament, that is responsible for the operations of the capital city of Kampala in Uganda.

Kira Municipality is covering an area of approximately 98.83 square Kilometers. It is composed of the undulating terrain of flat-topped hills. The valleys are occupied by about six regimes of natural drainage channels that form administrative boundaries. In peri- urban areas, the topography is the major factor in determining the land use in that the valleys are mainly used for subsistence agriculture, while upper slopes are used for residence.

Wakiso District lies in the Central Region of the country, bordering with Nakaseke District and Luweero District to the north, Mukono District to the east, Kalangala District in Lake Victoria to the south, Mpigi District to the southwest and Mityana District to the northwest.[2] Wakiso, where the district headquarters are located, lies approximately 20 kilometers (12 mi), by road, northwest of Kampala, the capital of Uganda and the largest city in the country. The coordinates of the district are:00 24N, 32 29E.

Known as the Land Of Milk And Honey, Mbarara Town is believed to have picked its name from the local tall green grass locally known as Emburara (hyperenia ruffa) that covered the whole area. Its real commercial growth began with the appearance of the Asian traders and by 1950 there were about 15 commercial premises. More commercial enterprises were set up between 1950 and 1960 In 1957, it was declared a Township authority under the British Administration at Kamukuzi Elevated to a Municipal status in 1974. Mbarara town was however affected by the liberation wars of 1972, 1979, and 1986 which destroyed the existing structure among many others hence retarded the urban growth.
